In China, where it originates, it is believed that Tai Chi can delay aging and prolong life, increase flexibility, strengthen muscles and tendons, and aid in the treatment of high blood pressure, arthritis, depression, cancer and many other illnesses. It is viewed as an effective exercise for the health of body and mind.
